The lohana community has played a very crucial role in the upliftment and progress of society.
Be it community halls or hostels, sanatoriums or schools, colleges for higher education, clinics or hospitals, the philanthropists of the lohana community have contributed towards all causes of mankind.
60-70% of the population of saurashtra, kutch and gujrat compromises of the Raghuvanshis, settled there since many decades. Many serious issues concerning the Raghuvanshis in these three regions of gujrat state were discussed at a conferenced held in veraval by stalward of various mahajans. After deep thought it was decided to address the issue of health facility by building a public hospital. So far the community has provided facilities has provided facilities in the field of education but nothing very significant in the fieldof health – a public hospital as such.
To meet this need of the hour, when medical facilities are imperative and expensive it was decided to build a public hospital in Rajkot, which is centrally located in Gujrat and would be accessible to many and thus convenient. Donors from Rajkot – Saurashtra and Mumbai came forward to form Shree Raghuvanshi Foundation Trust with expectations of whole hearted support and cooperation of all the section of community.
Shree Raghuvanshi Foundation Trust is registered and donations to this trust are exempted from income tax under section 80G and FCRA 6(i)A Trust Foundation Registration No—4594 (Rajkot). under the aegis of this trust Shree Raghukul Sarvajanik Hospital will take shape.
For this services temple in the health arena by the Raghuvanshis, a plot measuring 3100 square meters has been acquired from the Rajkot Municipalty on Panchvati road in the posh Kalawad area at the cost of Rs. 75 lakhs, thanks to the generous donors from India and abroad. Specially from Shri Narandas Bhayani (Kenya).
The project was initiated on 21st April 2006 an auspicious function in Rajkot, graced by the presence and blessings of no other than Shree 1008 Mahamandleshwar Sant Shiromani Shree Haricharandasji Maharaj of Param Pujya Gondal Ramji Mandir. Generous amounts were received and promised on this day. It was a moment of pride for the Raghuvanshis, especially when the events was well covered by the popular daily news papers of Shaurashtra Gujrat.
